I really didn’t like this book. Dec 26, This book started off great, and it’s a pain having mar DNF it, because I really wanted to like it. His excuse for this is haddn Christopher, the main character, is autistic. And also I just took way too long to read it. Get fast, free shipping with Amazon Prime. So, for other readers who alike me are suckers for dog-based-books, do not be misled by the title since the book has nothing to do with dogs nor is there any curious incident happening with any dog except that the dog was killed in the night time by Christopher’s father.

I guess my disappointment lies in the fact that not only did my book club tout this as a mystery novel but also many of the li The concept is interesting: Christopher becomes acceptable, then, because he is not a Joseph Fleming; he is more like “one of us,” so we can find him tolerable. I have gotten mixed responses from different people about this novel, many of which were positive, some of which were nega 1. I am also assuming that he was in a special school or classroom, but to have him in a room with a high school student that ate their own excrement does not add up to me.
I am not saying it is easy for people like Christopher.
I cannot recommend this book and encourage that people that are on the spectrum to write stories about character’s on the spectrum and also encourage those with a greater understanding such as parents, guardians, and others to do the same.
I’ve done a search and maybe it was this book, but I’m not sure: Yes, I understand that the story is told from the point of view of an autistic kid, it would be damned hard not to grasp that, but was it really necessary?
It is very inaccurate that Christopher’s mum left, normally its dad who refuses to even try and cope with an autistic child. Couldn’t even finish it This item doesn’t belong on this page. I will say overall this was a huge disappointment to me. Then they can tell me how cool that shit is. And some here and there shrewd lecture on maths to decorate the content of the book.

Ugh okay so this is sort of a story within a story. Amazon Second Chance Pass it on, trade it in, give it a second life. Christopher clearly is written to have a condition on the Autistic spectrum, but his functioning level is not necessarily the highest.
However, it is not baffling in a romantic way, as done by Shakespeare, pdrro in an intriguing way, as in Agatha Christie’s mysteries, but rather in a disorienting way that makes one wonder what the author intended to say in the first place.
